Mr. Squirrel

As I go about my normal day,

You restlessly scamper on the deck as if to say Hey!

My bird feeder is empty

You get a bit testy,

I say hold on you silly thing,

There are cheep cheeps who will sing.

You wait and wait impatiently,

Tail moving crazily.

Give me a sec,

My feeders a wreck!

Those raccoons last night had a feast

Causing a raucous, boy I should have policed!

Let me clean this mess

Or should I digress?

You watch me from a nearby tree

Knowing soon you will finally see

Seed and more seed

Not for you but you will still feed.

Take your time and share,

The birds are coming, be aware.

Your nervous chatter is the only thank you I request

Relax, enjoy your meal, see you later my skittish guest.
